Ekaterina Korchagina was born in Moscow in 1983. She studied music since a very early age, but always wanted to learn the art of painting, drawing, and graphics. She graduated from the Academic School of Design, specializing in painting and graphic art. Being an active member of the Creative Union of Artists of Moscow, she belongs to its intuitive art section.
For Ekaterina, the world does not have any concreteness. The artist sees beauty in the chaos of the graphic perception of life. For her, one of the ways of cognition is not only through painting, but also through music. And one day, Ekaterina came up with the idea of combining these two genres of art. To express her feelings outward, to give the music its flesh, volume, and, thus, a new life in the world of artistic pictorial metaphors; so that the viewer could see the music, perhaps even feel its weight.
«The art for me is when my nature takes my hand and dabs the paintbrush into the paint. I’m only a part of it, an observant guide. The world is the perfect abstraction. The beauty in a complete chaos. And my task as an artist is to show this in my paintings.
When I was little, I saw so much beauty in the world that it became clear even then that I could not live without painting. I want to express, share this beauty in my language... And no politics in art. Only emotions and feelings, only beauty. Like beautiful flowers in the garden.»
Since 2013 she regularly partakes in art exhibitions both home and abroad, including the «White noise» project, Netherlands. She is also a winner of several awards, such as:
